Commissioners:
I would like to state for the record that I favor Map 40 over Map A. I believe
it best represents the interests of the people of Waikoloa.
It keeps us in the same district with Waimea, a community that we are
economically and politically very similar to. Moving Waikoloa into a district
with north Iona does not make sense to me, as we have little in common
with Kona other than COSTO.
As I understand it, Map 40 is a nice compromise. A lot of work went into it
and it does a good job of keeping communities across the whole island
together and essentially where they want to be.
