My name is Jennifer Wei nert, a resident of Pa pa' i kou . I have lived on
the Hamakua Coast now for 6 years, having lived previously for 23
years in Puna. I specifically moved to the district of Hamakua because
of its agricultural and community.
It would not serve Hamakua to divide it geographically in half, part to
Waimea and part to Hilo. Both of these "ends" of Hamakua are NOT
Hamakua- each has its own flavor and own agenda. It is imperative
that the voice of Hamakua be preserved and that the community of
Hamakua be represented in whole, not divided.
I strongly support the adoption of Community Plan 40 and strongly
oppose Commission Plan A. Your consideration is appreciated to
preserve Hamakua.
