The rural <br />communities along the Hamal<ua Coast share a long agricultural history. It's important that these <br />communities remain together in one council district. They cannot be effectively represented remotely <br />from Hilo and the dry side of Waimea. The issues that face the Hamal<ua Coast are vastly different from <br />those facing downtown Hilo and areas of West Hawai'i such as Pual<o and Kawaihae.
