Subject: Comment County Re- districting Plan
Aloha Members of the Redistricting Commission:
I agree with most of your recommended redrawn district lines. I would like to suggest the
following as it relates to Council District 3. I suggest the following to maintain the
transportation, light industrial, commercial, and educational character of the existing 2001
district in the redrawn 2011 district. As proposed, your plan would add part of a residential
component to an area which has not historically and traditionally been part of that community.
I apologize for not including maps of my suggestion, but include the following description with
hopes that it will suffice.
At the District 1 boundary:
South on Wainaku Street to Wailuku Drive;
West on Wailuku Drive to Ululani Street;
South on Ululani Street to Ponahawai Street
Westerly on Ponahawai Street to Komohana Street;
South on Komohana Street to Haihai Street;
East on Haihai Street to Kilauea Avenue;
South on Kilauea Avenue to Highway 11;
Continue on Highway 11 and Connect with Commission Draft Plan line of 11.01.2011

the citizens and communities in our county.
