APPROVAL OF MINUTES – March 24, 2010
REPORTS:
1) SKCDP ACTION COMMITTEE VACANCY (5 minutes) –
Update on the status of
the vacancy on the South Kohala CDP Action Committee.
2) LAND USE PERMIT ACTIVITY REPORT (10 minutes) –
Allen Salavea, SKCDP
Project Manager will report on Planning Dept permits received in the previous month
for the South Kohala district.
LIASON REPORT FROM VARIOUS MEETINGS AND EVENTS ATTENDED IN

THE PREVIOUS MONTH (10 Minutes) –
Liaisons will report back to the SKCDP AC
regarding the various meetings and events attended in the previous month.
a) Waimea Trails and Greenways committee scheduled for 3/24/2010 @ 6:30 PM at
the Waimea Middle School cafeteria to talk about the Ke Ala Kahawai O
Waimea.

b) Waikoloa Talk Story in April "Food Gardening in Waikoloa" Friday, April 23, 2010
6:00 - 8:00 pm, Waikoloa School to introduce the AC members and update the
community regarding the status of the AC.

PLANNING DEPARTMENT RESPONSE TO THE PROPOSED GUIDELINES

FROM BOB MARTIN SENT TO DEPUTY DIRECTOR MASUNAGA REGARDING
THE REVIEW OF LAND USE PERMITS BY THE NKCDP ACTION COMMITTEE
(20 minutes) –
The SKCDP AC will review and discuss the response letter sent to
the NKCDP AC regarding the proposal from Bob Martin (NKCDP AC Chair) to
review land use permits received for North Kohala.

DEVELOP 2010/2011 IMPLEMENTATION WORK PLAN FOR SKCDP (20

Discuss developing an implementation work plan at the subcommittee
level to define the priorities and activities of the Action Committee.
a) Review and discuss the SKCDP AC list of priorities that have been compiled
from the AC members and begin the process of organizing and priorities.

CREATE SUBCOMMITTEE STRUCTURE (20 Minutes)
6) – Discuss the creation of
SKCDP Action Committee subcommittees and how to determine committee
membership by:

REVIEW DRAFT OPERATING GUIDELINES FROM AMY SELF, DEPUTY

CORPORATION COUNSEL (10 minutes)
– Review document prepared for Kona
CDP, which is being used as template for all Action Committees.
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT BUDGET (5 minutes)
8) – Discuss the
proposed Capital Improvement Budget for fiscal year 2010 – 2011 in order to
understand current priorities for South Kohala.
DISCUSS SENDING LIASONS TO VARIOUS COMMUNITY MEETINGS AND

UPCOMING EVENTS (5 minutes)
– Discuss sending a SKCDP Action Committee
member to liaison with various community meetings to introduce the Action
Committee and begin the process of forming relationships for move implementation
of the SKCDP forward.
