Masunaga Deputy Director County of Hawaii PLANNING DEPARTMENT Aupuni Center 101 Pauahi Street, Suite 3 Hilo, Hawaii 96720 Phone (808) 961-8288 Fax (808) 961-8742 NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING SOUTH KOHALA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PLAN ACTION COMMITTEE HAWAI`I COUNTY PLANNING DEPARTMENT DATE: Monday, November 22, 2010 TIME:5:00 PM PLACE: Waikoloa Village Association Offices 68-1792 Melia Street, Waikoloa Village AGENDA CALL TO ORDER: STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON AGENDA ITEMS: APPROVAL OF MINUTES October 25 –, 2010 PRESENTATIONS: 1) CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT BUDGET DEVELOPMENT PROCESS BY COUNCILMAN PETE HOFFMANN (20 minutes) – Councilman Pete Hoffmann will give the SKCDP Action Committee an overview of how the Capital Improvement Budget is developed in order to understand how current priorities for South Kohala can be placed on future CIP budgets. 2) FIVE MOUNTAINS PROPOSAL TO PARTNER WITH THE SKCDP AC ON VARIOUS SOCIAL ISSUES RELATING TO THE COMMUNITIES OF SOUTH KOHALA (20 minutes) – Deanna Kackley will provide the SKCDP AC with information about the Five Mountains organization and discuss including the SKCDP AC in their alliance of partners. REPORTS 3) SKCDP ACTION COMMITTEE VACANCY (5 minutes) – Update on the status of the filling the anticipated vacancy with the departure of Jeannie Palermo from the South Kohala CDP Action Committee. 4) LAND USE PERMIT ACTIVITY REPORT (5 minutes) – Allen Salavea, SKCDP Project Manager will report on Planning Dept permits received in the previous month for the South Kohala district. Hawaii County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer 5) LIASON REPORT FROM VARIOUS MEETINGS AND EVENTS ATTENDED IN THE PREVIOUS MONTH (10 Minutes) – Liaisons will report back to the SKCDP AC regarding the various meetings and events attended in the previous month 6) STATUS REPORT ON THE DRAFT OPERATING GUIDELINES FROM AMY SELF, DEPUTY CORPORATION COUNSEL (10 minutes) – Awaiting response from Amy Self regarding the guidelines that the SKCDP AC adopted on September 27, 2010. 7) STATUS REPORT ON THE AD HOC PARKS COMMITTEE FOR WAIKOLOA VILLAGE (10 minutes) – Ad Hoc report on the two-acre park proposed in Waikoloa’s affordable housing area. 8) SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS AND UPDATES (20 minutes) – SKCDP AC members will report on the recent activities of the following subcommittees. a) Puako b) Kawaihae c) Waimea d) Waikoloa e) District-Wide Matters f) Subcommittee Assignments NEW BUSINESS 9) DISCUSS DATE, TIME, AND LOCATION OF 2011SKCDP AC MEETINGS (20 minutes) – Discuss the date, time, and location of the 2011 SKCDP AC meetings. STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON AGENDA ITEMS ANNOUNCEMENTS DATE, TIME, AND LOCATION OF NEXT MEETING SET AGENDA FOR NEXT MEETING ADJOURNMENT Notice: If you are a lobbyist, you must register with the Hawaii County Clerk within five working days (prior to meeting date) of becoming a lobbyist {Article 15, Section 2-91.3 (b), Hawaii County Code}.
