Minutes of Meeting of December 12, 2011. NEW BUSINESS: 1) UPDATE ON ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW PROCESS FOR UPOLU AIRPORT (15 Minutes) - The NKCDP AC will provide an update on the environmental review process for the Upolu Airport. 2) USE OF LARGE LIGHTED SIGNS FOR DISTRIBUTING IMPORTANT INFORMATION (15 Minutes) – The NKCDP AC will discuss the use of large lighted signs as identified in Strategy 4.4 of the NKCDP. OLD BUSINESS: 3) NKCDP AC SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS (30 minutes) – NKCDP AC members will report on the recent activity of the subcommittees: a. Growth Management – The subcommittee will report on land use applications submitted to the Planning Department including the following subdivision Hawai`i County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer www.cohplanningdept.com planning@co.hawaii.hi.us applications; Kohala Ranch Development Corp; L-Three Holdings; James Sargent; and the Lee Revocable Trust application. b. Public Access – The Subcommittee will provide an update about the activities at provide an update on the Hapu'u-Kapanai'a and a letter that will be drafted; fundraising activities for Kauhola Lighthouse; update on the pedestrian trail at Pahoa (Honomakau);Upolu Airport - East end of the runway – will provide status of the subdivision permit and proposed access easement; provide an update on the Upolu Airport Area Restoration and an update of the environmental review process for the Upolu Airport. c. Infrastructure A - The subcommittee will provide an update on the community information proposal. d. Infrastructure B – No report. e. Affordable Housing – The subcommittee will provide updates on affordable housing and land. f. Agriculture – No report.
