STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON AGENDA ITEMS
ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS
1. Minutes of Meeting of January 23, 2012.
PRESENTATION
1. UPDATE OF THE KAWAIHAE COMMUNITY PLAN SECTION OF THE SKCDP (30
minutes) –
The Kawaihae Subcommittee will provide an update of the Kawaihae
Community Plan section of the SKCPD.
REPORTS
2. LAND USE PERMIT ACTIVITY REPORT (10 minutes)
– Rosalind Newlon, SKCDP
Project Manager will report on Planning Dept. permits received in the previous month for
the South Kohala district.
3. SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS AND UPDATES (30 minutes)
– SKCDP AC members will
report on the recent activities of the following subcommittees.
a) Puako – The Subcommittee will provide update on the proposal to develop a Puako
Waste Water System. The report will also include a list of other community projects for
improving the Marine Water Quality, Makai Watch, Whale Sanctuary, Reef Protection,
and a proposed/considered no-catch zone along Puako reef.
b) Kawaihae – No Report.

c) Waikoloa – The Subcommittee report will cover discussions held at the Waikoloa
community leadership committee meeting concerning infrastructure (including mass
transit and roads); emergency planning; and parks and recreation
d) Waimea – No report.
e) District-Wide Matters – The Subcommittee will provide an update on the current
progress being made on the potable water sources solutions project.
NEW BUSINESS
4. REVIEW OF EACH OF THE SUBCOMMITTEE PRIORITIES FOR 2012 (20 minutes) –
The SKCDP AC will review the priorities for each of the subcommittees for 2012 to
incorporate into their work plans.
5. RECOMMEND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (CIP) PRIORITIES FROM THE
SKCDP (20 minutes) –
The SKCDP AC will recommend CIP priorities from the SKCDP.
6. IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SKCDP AND THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF
THE CDP ACTION COMMITTEE (15 minutes)
– The AC will review and discuss the duties
and responsibilities of the SKCDP AC and strategies for implementation of the SKCDP.
