RE: Request to Call Special Meeting
I respectfully request that the Redistricting Commission call a Special Meeting on
December 16, 2011 or on December 17, 2011, to discuss the final redistricting plan
approved by the Redistricting Commission on November 30, 2011, and to address
allegations of violations of the Hawaii County Charter, the Hawaii County Code, the
Hawaii State Constitution and Federal laws prohibiting gerrymandering. Please advise the
Clerk’s Office as soon as possible, but no later than 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 10,
2011, if a meeting will be called, so that staff can prepare the agenda and meet the 6-day
posting deadline.
