Minutes of Meetings of September 12, 2011 2. Recruitment of NKCDP AC Members REPORTS 1) REDISTRICTING REPORT (5 Minutes) – Report on the proposed redistricting that is performed every 10 years after the census is completed. 2) LAND USE PERMIT ACTIVITY REPORT (10 minutes) – Rosalind Newlon, NKCDP Project Manager will report on Planning Dept. permits received in the previous month for the North Kohala district. NEW BUSINESS: 3) SUBCOMMITTEE GOALS AND WORKPLANS (15 minutes) –– The NKCDP AC will review the goals, objectives and work plans of the Subcommittees for 2011-2012. 4) IMPLEMENTATION OF THE NKCDP (20 minutes) – The NKCDP AC will review and discuss the Implementation Matrix, Section 5.3 of Chapter 5 of the NKCDP. 5) OPEN OCEAN AQUACULTURE SUBCOMMITTEE (15 minutes) - The Subcommittee will report on . findings. NKCDP AC recommendation to Planning Director Hawaii County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer OLD BUSINESS: 6) NKCDP AC SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS (30 minutes) – NKCDP AC members will report on the recent activity of the subcommittees: a. Growth Management – The subcommittee will report on land use applications submitted to the Planning Department. b. Public Access – The subcommittee will report on Upolu Airport ground restoration; Stewardship Plan status; Harrison Family Trust subdivision application; and Kauhola Point status. c. Infrastructure A – The subcommittee will report on next steps for the water issues; Mahukona Beach Park restoration and the action steps for the nonprofit park management project. d. Infrastructure B – The subcommittee will provide updates on ongoing efforts of rural infrastructure and erosion prevention methods; electricity reliability, redundancy, and the proposed electric loop route. e. Affordable Housing – The subcommittee will provide updates on affordable housing and land. f. Agriculture – The subcommittee will provide an update from their meeting on developing a strategic plan to achieve 50% food self reliance and report on community harvest day.
