MargaretMasunagapresentedanoverviewoftheroleandresponsibilitiesoftheActionCommittee. Basically,theCommitteeisdesignedtoeducatethepublic,seekfeedback,bethevoiceofthe communityandinturnadvisethePlanningDirector. DeputyCorporationCounsel,BillBrilhante,conductedapresentationregardingtheSunshineLawand CodeofEthics.TheintentoftheSunshineLawistoopenupgovernmentprocessestopublicscrutiny andparticipationbyrequiringstateandcountyboardstoconducttheirbusinessasopenlyaspossible. TheEthicsCodeprovidesstandardsofconductforcountyofficersandemployees. Itisstandardprocedurethatanagendabepostedsixdayspriortoameeting.AlanSalaveawillcompile informationfortheagenda.Copieswillalsobeprovidedtoindividualswhorequestit.Withregardto theNorthKohalaCommunityDevelopmentPlanandz·xcommitteeofnine,atleastfivemembersare neededforaquorum.Twothirdsofthemajorityvoteofmemberspresentisneededtomoveonto executivesession. ElectionofChairandViceChair.AmotionwasmadetoappointBobMartinasinterimchairforsixty (60)daysoruntilachairmanisappointed.Thismotionwasseconded,putforthfordiscussionand passedthatBobMartinbeappointedinterimchair. ThenextmeetingdateoftheNorthKohalaCommunityDevelopmentPlanActionCommitteewilltake placeonMonday,October12,2009from4:306:30p.m.attheKohalaSeniorCenterCourthouse.A motionwasmade,seconded,putforthfordiscussionandpassedtothisdateandtime.
