STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON AGENDA ITEMS
PRESENTATIONS:
1) KUMAKUA AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROJECT – Keith Kato from Hawaii Island
Community Development Corporation will do a presentation on the Kumakua
Housing Project.
REPORTS:
2) LAND USE PERMIT REPORT JANUARY 2010 – Allen Salavea, NKCDP Project
Manager will report on Planning Dept permit activity for North Kohala for the month
of December 2009.
OLD BUSINESS:
3)REVIEW DRAFT OPERATING GUIDELINES FOR NKCDP AC – Review and discuss
for adoption the document prepared by Planning Department and reviewed by

Deputy Corporation Counsel Amy Self, which is to be used as template for all
Action Committees.
4)REVIEW “EXPECTATIONS” DOCUMENT – Review the “Expectations” document
prepared at the AC training held on October 10, 2009 on how the NKCDP AC
will conduct its meetings.
5) CREATE SUBCOMMITTEES AND DISCUSS PROTOCOLS FOR MEMBERS –
Chair will appoint subcommittee members and the AC will discuss protocols and
requirements for membership and reporting.

6) DATE AND LOCATION FOR NEXT MEETING – Scheduled for February 8, 2010 at
the Kohala Senior Center.

If you are a lobbyist, you must register with the Hawaii County Clerk within five
days of becoming a lobbyist {Article 15, Section 2-91.3 (b), Hawaii County Code}. A
lobbyist means “any individual engaged for pay or other consideration who spend more
than five hours in any month or $275 in any six-month period for the purpose of
attempting to influence legislative or administrative action by communicating or urging
others to communicate with public officials.” {Article 15, Section 2-91.3(a) (6), Hawaii
County Code} Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service, other reasonable
modification, or language interpretation to access this meeting please contact the
Planning Department at 961-8288 as soon as possible, but no later than five working
days prior to the meeting date, to arrange for accommodations. “Other reasonable
modification” refers to communication methods or devices for people with disabilities
who are mentally and/or physically challenged
