PRESENTATION:
1) ROLE OF CDP AC REGARDING LAND USE ISSUES – MARGARET WILLE (10 minutes) –
Margaret Wille will provide perspective on the role of the CDP AC in relation to the Planning
Department regarding land use issues.
2) CULTURAL CORRIDOR PRESENTATION – TONI WHITTINGTON (10 minutes) – Toni
Withington will provide background on establishing a “cultural corridor” in North Kohala.
REPORTS:
3) LAND USE PERMIT ACTIVITY REPORT (10 minutes) – Allen Salavea, NKCDP Project
Manager will report on Planning Department permits received in North Kohala last month.
NEW BUSINESS:
4) DISCUSSION REGARDING OUTREACH AT KOHALA COUNTRY FAIR (10 minutes) –
Discussion regarding the outreach activity by the NKCDP AC at the Kohala Country Fair

5) DISCUSSION REGARDING FIRST COMMUNITY MEETING (10 minutes) – Discussion
regarding the date, time, location, and purpose/focus of holding the first community meeting by
the NKCDP AC.
6) DEVELOP LIST OF CAPITOL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS (20 minutes) – Develop a first-
draft list of suggested North Kohala projects to be submitted for Capitol Improvement Project
listing.
OLD BUSINESS:
7)REVIEW OPERATING GUIDELINES FOR NKCDP AC (20 MINUTES) – Review and discuss
operating guidelines adopted by NKCDP AC and revised by Planning Department and Deputy
Corp Counsel Amy Self.
8)PROPOSED NORTH KOHALA CDP WEBSITE (15 minutes) – Update on current status the North
Kohala CDP section of the COH CDP website.

9)REVIEW COMPILED 2010 IMPLEMENTATION WORK PLANS DEVELOPED BY THE
SUBCOMMITTEES (20 minutes) – Review
drafts of the 2010 Implementation Work Plans.
10)NKCDP AC SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS (20 minutes) – NKCDP AC members will report on the
recent activity of the subcommittees:

Growth Management,

Public Access,

Infrastructure,

Affordable Housing.

becoming a lobbyist {Article 15, Section 2-91.3 (b), Hawaii County Code}. A lobbyist means “any
individual engaged for pay or other consideration who spend more than five hours in any month or
$275 in any six-month period for the purpose of attempting to influence legislative or administrative
action by communicating or urging others to communicate with public officials.” {Article 15, Section 2-
91.3(a) (6), Hawaii County Code} Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service, other reasonable
modification, or language interpretation to access this meeting please contact the Planning
Department at 961-8288 as soon as possible, but no later than five days prior to the meeting date, to
arrange for accommodations. “Other reasonable modification” refers to communication methods or
