REPORTS
1. LAND USE PERMIT ACTIVITY REPORT (10 minutes)
– Terry Dunlap, SKCDP Project
Manager will report on Planning Department permits received in the previous month for the
South Kohala district.
2. SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS AND UPDATES (30 minutes)
– SKCDP AC members will
report on the recent activities of the following subcommittees.
A. Puako
1.Report of the State Historic Preservation Plan hearing of May 17, 2012
2. Puako Bay and Puako Reef Fisheries Management Area, DLNR Administrative Rule
Changes
3. South Kohala Marine Conservation Action Plan, meeting June 25-26
4. The proposed gating and admission charge to Hapuna Beach and effects on beach
69 and Puako.
B. Kawaihae
1. Request from The Kailapa Community Association for assistance in
establishing an emergency road in the mauka subdivision.
2. Discuss additions to the General Plan-Historic List for South Kohala
3. Traffic safety - street parking and other pedestrian and biker and vehicle
safety issues along Kawaihae Road
4. South Kawaihae small boat harbor transfer of land from SDOT to DLNR to
enable installation of waterline - status request

5. Kawaihae water distribution
