CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />2. STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON AGENDA ITEMS <br /> <br />3. APPROVAL OF THE REGULAR SESSION MINUTES OF JULY 11, 2012 <br /> <br />4. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />a. Review of Gifts Disclosure Statements received from the following County officers <br />or employees: Jamae Kawauchi. <br /> <br />b. Review and consider a formal resolution pursuant to Rule 5.2 of the Rules of <br />Practice and Procedure of the Board of Ethics, to determine whether an investigation <br />shall be conducted and hearing held concerning alleged violations of the Code of <br />Ethics by an officer or employee. If the resolution is passed, the Board may <br />investigate the matter and hold a hearing pursuant to Rule 5.4 of the Rules of <br />Practice and Procedure. <br /> <br />5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br />a. Petition No. 2012-01: Initial review of petition requesting investigation of two <br />officers’ “attendance and voting record during the publicized scheduled hearings in <br />the Council Chambers of Hawai‘i Island,” alleging violation of Sections 2-80 <br />(interpretation of article) and 2-83 (fair treatment) of the Hawai‘i County Code of <br />Ethics. <br /> <br />6. EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> <br />With reference to the agenda items listed below, one or more executive meetings are <br />anticipated. In particular, the Board of Ethics anticipates it may consider the evaluation, <br />dismissal, or disciplining of an officer or employee of the County of Hawai‘i, where <br />considerations of matters affecting privacy will be involved. The Board may also consult <br />with the Board’s attorney on questions and issues pertaining to the Board’s powers, duties, <br />privileges, immunities, and liabilities.
