1. Review & Approve Minutes of June 25, 2012 AC Meeting
REPORTS
1. LAND USE PERMIT ACTIVITY REPORT (10 minutes)
– Terry Dunlap, SKCDP Project
Manager will report on Planning Department permits received in the previous month for the
South Kohala district.
2. SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS AND UPDATES (10 minutes)
– SKCDP AC members will
report on the recent activities of the following subcommittees.
A. Puako
1. Makai Watch information booth, fire break, and an announcement that John Hoover
volunteered to be the link between the South Kohala Conservation Action Plan and the
SKCDPAC.
NEW BUSINESS (1 hour)
A one hour presentation about the State and National Registers of Historic Places.
Presenters will be Ross W. Stephenson, PhD, Historian, Architecture Department of the
State Historic Preservation Division; Mike Vitousek, State Historic Preservation Division
Archaeologist, and Rick Gmirkin of the National Park Service.

Notice: If you are a lobbyist, you must register with the Hawaii County Clerk within five working
days (prior to meeting date) of becoming a lobbyist {Article 15, Section 2-91.3 (b), Hawaii
County Code}. A lobbyist means “any individual engaged for pay or other consideration who
spend more than five hours in any month or $275 in any six-month period for the purpose of
attempting to influence legislative or administrative action by communicating or urging others to
communicate with public officials.” (Article 15, Section 2-91.3(a) (6), Hawaii County Code)
Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service, other reasonable modification, or language
interpretation to access this meeting please contact the Planning Department at 961-8288 as
soon as possible, but no later than five working days prior to the meeting date, to arrange for
accommodations. “Other reasonable modification” refers to communication methods or devices
for people with disabilities who are mentally and/or physically challenged
