Notes from Growth Management Subcommittee Meeting May 7, 2012
Attendees: Jim Pedersen, Jeff Allen, Hermann Fernandez, Jesse Wells, and
John Winter
No new applications reported on Land Use Permit Report.
Subcommittee reviewed L-Three Holdings Tentative Subdivision Approval letter
(attached). Comments were made regarding the private water system being
developed by Waimea Water Services, Inc., constructing a 50,000-gallon water
tank, and drilling the potable water well. There were no additional questions for
the Planning Dept.
Over the next several meetings, John Winter and the subcommittee will develop
a procedural paper, that will outline in detail our procedures for working with the
Action Committee, Planning Dept, and our local community. Our goals are to
review the land use applications, provide timely recommendations to the
Planning Dept. and Action Committee, and to keep our community updated on
proposed developments, especially in neighborhoods immediately effected by
the proposed development. Currently, we have a written plan in place, but we
want to update it, especially in light of the Scenic By-Ways debacle. We need to
take a hard look at the best way to disseminate the information to our community.
Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 4, 2012 from 6:00 7:00 pm at
Suretys office in Hawi.
