HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-04-2012 Growth Management Subcommittee Notes SUMMARY Reviewed James Sargent Pension Plan Subdivision Application Review first draft of “Procedures and Polices” position paper to guide the operations of the Growth Management subcommittee Notes from Growth Management Subcommittee Meeting June 4, 2012 Attendees: Jim Pedersen, Hermann Fernandez, and Jesse Wells Reviewed subdivision application for James Sargent Pension Plan in Hawi town just west of the old Mormon Gym. This is a resubmission of an application originally submitted in November 2011. The applicant wants to create 5 lots, each greater that 15,000 sq.ft., from a 1.985 acre parcel. Assess is from the Akoni Pule Highway via Hua Lane. The parcel is zoned RS-15. The applicant is proposing a private well system to provide potable water. This application is in conformity with the CDP, which states “to direct North Kohala’s growth to areas within and near existing town centers in order to preserve the district’s open space and cultural resources.” John Winter created the first draft of the “Growth Management Subcommittee Procedures and Policies”. We discussed some revisions to the text, but unfortunately, John was not able to attend the meeting, so we tabled this item until our July meeting. Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday, July 2, 2012 from 6:00 – 7:00 pm at Surety’s office in Hawi.
