Minutes of the meeting of May 25, 2012
Assembled at Mahukona Park
The location of the short term campsites and feeding stations was discussed as it
relates to both groups. Linda suggested the cat feeding sites not be visible from the
pavilion. Bee said she would walk the proposed campsite areas with Marty and
Linda today and report that information to the MCCC. Kate said the dates
previously set to move the feeding stations are no longer valid but that the stations
will be moved eventually, that MCCC would also work to manage the soil and
containment within their own timeframe. It was agreed that when the FOM holds a
park cleanup workers will leave the current feeding stations intact.
The number of cats was discussed and Bee agreed there were too many cats. She
said MCCC will lower the number but in its own way. Kate asked everyone to
discourage the taking of cat food and water dishes from the stations which has
been going on regularly since March.
The groups agreed to keep lines of communication open with Kate being contact for
MCCC and Linda for FOM. This is mainly for help and sharing information. All
reports and complaints will be handled through the Dept. of P &R. Both groups
agreed to draw up plans for the short term and to share them with each other.
S and Flyer: Kristi was not there but it was agreed that the MCCC would take
over production of both. Contacts and phone numbers on them will be MCCC only.
Kristi will be encouraged to share the wording of the signs in the park with
members of this group before they are posted.
Education: Kristi and Andi Longpre are still working on the education program,
which received enthusiastic support of all attending.
Community meeting: No one wanted to work on the community meeting for June,
although it was agreed that a meeting should be held to get input on the long term
planning of the park and explain the cooperative management. (Gio, do you want
to put in anything about a community meeting?)

No next meeting was set although another could be held with the notification of all
those who have attended the past meetings.
