Participants Pololu Akoakoa Point (Bird Cave) o Hapu'u – Kapanaia Hapu'u. o Fence completed, Signage is being prepared. Kauhola Lighthouse Nothing new report o Halelua The Land Legacy Commission will meet in December to consider acquisition of agricultural o and conservation easements from Vipassana. Ainakea Nothing new report. o Upolu Airport - East end of the runway Nothing new report o Upolu Airport Area Restoration The program will resume next year o Coast Guard Road Nothing new to report. o Puakea Bay Ranch The letter regarding the realignment of the trail was sent to the planning director from the o action committee and a report will be presented on the November 26th meeting of the action committee. Ranch at Puakea Ongoing work of a trails & cultural sites map o We should make an announcement to have residents with burial Iwi documents to our meetings o so that we can pass it on to the action committee to have it submitted to the planning department. Kohala Kai We should consider a safer trail from the parking lot to the pedestrian trail. o Grant of easement documents Representatives of our group will meet with Larry Brown of the planning department to go o over Grants of Easements in North Kohala that are pending. Old government roads and rail roads Keoni is working on a petition to open Pratt road for emergency and pedestrian access. o They are also actively talking to landowners along Pratt road to consider this access. o New Items Amendments for the minimum 2% land purchase and the 1/2% access maintenance passed in o the recent elections. Kaiholena o The National Park Service Ala Kaha Kai has a right-of-entry (ROE) for Kaiholena and wants to start planning for the area's management. We may want to get an article in the Kohala Mountain News to ask families with ties to · Kaiholena to come and meet to talk about the cultural aspects of the area. Latitude 20 (Land south of Pao'o) o This property (tmk 3-5-7-1-20) with 35.3 acres is on the market for $3.9 million. We'll put it on our next meeting's agenda to discuss getting it on the acquisition list. Next Meeting Wednesday December 5, 2012, 4:30pm in the Old Courthouse. o
