<br />LEEWARD PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />NOVEMBER 15, 2012 <br /> <br />The Leeward Planning Commission met in regular session at 9:40 a.m. in the West Hawai‘i Civic <br />Center, Community Center, Building G, 74-5044 Ane Keohokālole Highway, Kailua-Kona, <br />Hawai‘i, with Chair Geraldine Giffin presiding. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Geraldine Giffin, Lani Bowman, Brandi Beaudet, <br />Thomas Hickcox, Richard Nelson, III and Thomas Whittemore (until 2:49 p.m.) <br /> <br />ABSENT AND EXCUSED: Wayne Iokepa <br /> <br />ALSO PRESENT: Ivan Torigoe (Deputy Corporation Counsel), BJ Leithead Todd (Planning <br />Director), Daryn Arai (Planning Program Manager), Jeff Darrow (Planner), Maija Cottle (Planner), <br />Kiran Emler (Department of Public Works, Engineering Division, until 1:20 p.m.) and Noriko Sauer <br />(Commission Secretary) <br /> <br />And approximately 22 people from the public in attendance. <br /> <br />A quorum was present. The Chair called the meeting to order and introduced the Commissioners <br />and staff to members of the public, and described the procedure for public testimony. <br /> <br />STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC – No statements were presented under this section of the <br />agenda. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />APPLICANT: HAWAIIAN RIVERBEND, LLC (SLU 12-035/REZ 12-157) <br />Applications for a State Land Use Boundary Amendment from Agricultural to Urban and a Change <br />of Zone from Agricultural 5-acres (A-5a) to Village Commercial-20,000 square feet (CV-20) for <br />approximately 14.622 acres of land. The property is located on the northeastern intersection of <br />Waikoloa Road and Paniolo Avenue, makai of the Waikoloa Stables and east of the Waikoloa <br />Village Highlands Shopping Center, Waikoloa, South Kohala, Hawai‘i, TMK: 6-8-002: por 021. <br /> <br />The Commission took up this item at 9:43 a.m. with approximately 22 people from the public in <br />attendance. <br /> <br />(SEE EXHIBIT A) <br /> <br />APPLICANT: WAIKOLOA MAUKA, LLC (Amend REZ 678) <br />Amendment to Condition B (Final Subdivision Approval) of Change of Zone Ordinance No. <br />07 127. The property, referred to as the proposed Waikoloa Highlands Subdivision, is located along <br />the south side of Waikoloa Road and south - southeast of Waikoloa Village, Waikoloa, South <br />Kohala, Hawai‘i, TMK: 6-8-2: portion of 16. <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />
