<br />NORTH KOHALA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PLAN <br />ACTION COMMITTEE MINUTES <br />MEETING DATE November 26, 2012 <br />TIME 5:00 pm <br />PLACE Kohala Senior Center, 54-3900 Akoni Pule Highway, Kapaau, <br />Hawaii 96755 <br /> <br />ATTENDANCE <br />1. Members Present: John Winter, Christopher “Keone” MacKillop, Collin Kaholo, Hermann <br />Fernandez, Frank Cipriani, and Susan Fischer. <br />2. Members absent: Joe Carvalho and Giovanna Gherardi. <br />Also present was Project Manager Rosalind Newlon from the Office of the Hawai’i County <br />Planning Department. <br />3. Public Attendance: Jesse C. Wells, Lynda Wallach, and Toni Withington. <br />STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON AGENDA ITEMS: None. <br />ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS: <br />1. Minutes of the October 8, 2012 meeting were reviewed and discussed by the AC <br />Members. Hermann Fernandez requested a correction to the name of Trust for Public <br />Lands under Item B, in Subcommittee Reports and a correction to the name of Akoni <br />Pule Highway under Item D, under Subcommittee Reports. All in favor of the minutes <br />was unanimous and the minutes were approved with the changes. <br />2. The Calendar of Meetings for 2013 was discussed and meetings will continue to be held <br />on the second Monday of the Month except for November, where it will be the fourth <br />Monday of the Month, and no meeting in December. All in favor of the Calendar of <br />Meetings for 2013 was unanimous and was approved. <br />REPORTS <br />1. LAND USE PERMIT ACTIVITY REPORT – Rosalind Newlon, NKCDP Project Manager <br />reported on Planning Dept. permits received in the previous month for the North Kohala <br />district. <br />2. NKCDP AC SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br /> Hermann Fernandez reported on the subdivision <br />a. Growth Management: <br />applications listed in the land use/permit activity report. He reported on the Sargent <br />Subdivision a 5-lot subdivision that received tentative approval with conditions and <br />Hermann briefly went over the conditions. He reported that the land use report would <br />be replaced with a new procedure whereby the Planning Department would provide <br />the AC Chair with a copy of the first page of an application and a cover letter memo <br />describing the project. <br />Public Access: Keone MacKillop provided an update of the activities at Hapu’u- <br />b. <br />Kapanai’a and discussed the interest in cleaning the road to Hapu’u. Keone said that <br />they are looking for legacy funds for Halelua; and provided an update on Ainakea – <br />1 <br /> <br />
