The discussion <br />23 <br />provided information on the establishment of the park, the biological and cultural resource of the <br />24 <br />park, activities currently taking place in the park and external threats to the park’s biological and <br />25 <br />cultural resources. Many of the programs and services are structured based on the document <br />26 <br />“The Spirit of Kaloko-Honokohu.” The document can be found on the web-site <br />27 <br />www.nps.gov/kaho. <br />28 <br /> <br /> <br />Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park is an area of cultural and natural significance <br />29 <br />in North Kona comprising the makai portions of the Kohanaiki, Kaloko, Honokohau and <br />30 <br />Kealakehe ahupuaa. <br />31 <br /> <br /> <br />The park contains two ancient Hawaiian fishponds, wetlands, more than 185 anchialine <br />32 <br />pools, coral reefs and archeological sites. <br />33 <br /> <br /> <br />The park is being developed as a living park with activities that are based on real Hawaiian <br />34 <br />cultural programs and activities to allow local and visitors alike to experience and learn <br />35 <br />about the Hawaiian culture and way of life. <br />36 <br />Questions and Comments include: <br />37 <br /> <br /> <br />Results of the Water Quality monitoring that has been/is being collected by the Park – the <br />38 <br />trend analysis – it was requested that those analysis be shared.
