<br />WINDWARD PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />APRIL 18, 2013 <br /> <br /> <br />The Windward Planning Commission met in regular session at 9:02 a.m. in the County of <br />Hawai‘i, Aupuni Center Conference Room, 101 Pauahi Street, Hilo, Hawai‘i, with first <br />Chairman Pro Tem Ronald Gonzales presiding and then Chairman Wallace Ishibashi. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Ronald Gonzales, Wallace Ishibashi, Myles Miyasato, Raylene <br />Moses, Charles Heaukulani, Gregory Henkel and Stephen Ono <br /> <br />STAFF PRESENT: Ivan Torigoe (Deputy Corporation Counsel), B. J. Leithead Todd <br />(Planning Director), Daryn Arai (Planning Program Manager), Phyllis Fujimoto (Staff Planner), <br />Maija Cottle (Staff Planner), Jeff Darrow (Staff Planner), and Sharon Nomura (Secretary) <br /> <br />The Chair introduced the staff and Windward Planning Commissioners to members of the public <br />and described the procedures to be followed for today’s meeting. <br /> <br />STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC – Note that statements from the public regarding <br />any particular item on this agenda will be taken at the time the particular item is called to <br />order. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS – 9:00 a.m. <br /> ELECTION OF OFFICERS FOR 2013 <br />1. <br /> <br />The Commission took this item up at 9:04 a.m. with approximately 15 people from the public in <br />attendance. <br /> <br />Wallace Ishibashi was elected Chairman by a motion made by Commissioner Moses, seconded <br />by Commissioner Heaukulani, and unanimously carried with seven ayes (Moses, Ono, <br />Heaukulani, Henkel, Ishibashi, Miyasato, and Gonzales). <br /> <br />Chairman Pro Tem Gonzales at this time turned the meeting over to newly elected Chairman <br />Ishibashi. <br /> <br />Ronald Gonzales was elected Vice-Chairman by a motion made by Commissioner Moses, <br />seconded by Commissioner Ono, and unanimously carried with seven ayes (Moses, Ono, <br />Heaukulani, Henkel, Miyasato, Gonzales and Ishibashi). <br /> <br />APPLICANT: STATE OF HAWAI‘I DEPARTMENT OF ACCOUNTING AND <br />GENERAL SERVICES (DAGS) (USE 13-038) <br /> <br />Use Permit application to allow the construction of a 75-foot tall, self supported <br />telecommunication tower with mounted antennas and related structures and uses on <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />
