STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON AGENDA ITEMS:
ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS
1. Minutes of the Meetings of and March 11, 2013 and April 8, 2013.
2. Posting of documents on the Hawaii County CDP Website.
NEW BUSINESS:
1)
PUBLIC ACESS, OPEN SPACE & NATURAL RESOURCES PRESERVATION (15 minutes)
Two members of the Public Access, Open Space & Natural Resources Preservation
Commission shall provide the Action Committee with a brief presentation about the
Commission.
2)
POWER, VIEW PLANE AND EROSION CONTROL SUBCOMMITTEE REPORT AND
UPDATE ON LED STREETLIGHTS (10 Minutes) - The Power, Viewplane and Erosion
Control Subcommittee will provide a report and update on Light Emitting Diode (LED)
Streetlights.
SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS
3)
NKCDP AC SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS (30 minutes) NKCDP AC members will report on
the recent activity of the subcommittees:
a. Growth Management The subcommittee will report on land use applications
submitted to the Planning Department.
b. Public Access The subcommittee will provide updates on activities at; Hapu'u
Kapanaia; Kauhola Lighthouse; Pahoa Beach; Upolu Airport Area Restoration; Coast

Guard Road; Latitude 20 (land south of Pao'o); Kaiholena; Kohala Kai; Puakea Bay
Ranch; Ranch at Puakea; and Grant of easement documents

c. Water, Parks and Roads The subcommittee will provide an update on the water
systems project.
d. Power, View Planes and Erosion Control - The subcommittee will provide updates
on continuing efforts in view plane protection and route coordination of the proposed
North Kohala reliability/redundancy electric loop with the proposed supply of
geothermal power to Oahu, rural infrastructure and erosion control
.
e. Affordable Housing The subcommittee will provide updates on affordable housing
and land
f. Agriculture The subcommittee will provide updates on the following projects:
diversified agriculture; Important Agricultural Land Initiative; strategically sited
agricultural lands; soil testing; agricultural educational programs; sustainable
agricultural and sustainable agricultural water development
