Minutes of the Meeting of May 13, 2013. 2. Election of Chair and Vice Chair. NEW BUSINESS: 1) REVIEW THE DRAFT PROCEDURES AND POLICIES FOR THE GROWTH MANAGEMENT SUBCOMMITTEE (10 Minutes) – The Action Committee will discuss and review the draft procedures and policies of the Growth Management Subcommittee and forward them to the Planning Director for review and comment. SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS 2) NKCDP AC SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS (30 minutes) – NKCDP AC members will report on the recent activity of the subcommittees: a. Growth Management – The subcommittee will report on land use applications submitted to the Planning Department. b. Public Access – The subcommittee will provide updates on activities at; Hapu'u – Kapanaia; Kauhola Lighthouse; Akoakoa Point (Bird Cave); Halelua; Pahoa Beach; Upolu Airport-east end of runway; Upolu Airport Area Restoration; Coast Guard Road; Puakea Bay Ranch; Ranch at Puakea; Latitude 20 (land south of Pao'o); Kaiholena; Kohala Kai; Old Government roads and railroads; and Grant of easement documents . www.cohplanningdept.com Hawai`i County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer planning@co.hawaii.hi.us c. Water, Parks and Roads– The subcommittee will provide an update on the water, parks and roads projects. d. Power, View Planes and Erosion Control - The subcommittee will provide updates on continuing efforts in rural infrastructure, view plane protection, and electricity reliability and redundancy. e. Affordable Housing – The subcommittee will provide updates on affordable housing and land f. Agriculture – The subcommittee will provide updates on the following projects: Important Agricultural Land Initiative; strategically sited agricultural lands; soil testing; sustainable agricultural and sustainable agricultural water development; agricultural educational programs; and diversified agriculture.
