<br /> <br />County of Hawaii <br />DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION <br />Recreation Division <br /> <br /> <br />TO: Physical Education Instructors or Track Coaches <br /> <br />FROM: Darrell Yamamoto, Recreation Specialist II <br /> Recreation Division - 961-8735 or 938-2012 (cell) <br /> <br />RE: 2014 Parks & Recreation Track & Field Program <br /> <br /> <br />The Department of Parks and Recreation has scheduled its 2014 Track & Field <br />program for February 8 and 22, 2014 at both East and West Hawaii sites <br />Konawaena High School Track Oval will be utilized for the <br />simultaneously. The <br />West Hawaii meets, East Hawaii meets will be at the Keaau <br />while the site for the <br />High School Track Oval. <br /> The increase interest in track and field has necessitated <br />the use of two sites. <br /> <br />February 8, 2014 will be for the Age Group track & field meets. The Exponent track <br />& field meet will be held on February 22, 2014. With the use of both sites, it allows <br />the department to conduct both track and field events on the same day. <br /> <br />1. Participants will be limited to 3 events, one of which shall be a field event. <br />Relays are included in the 3 events. Be sure chosen events are listed in <br />participants division. Any participant competing in excess of three events will <br />th <br />automatically be disqualified from the 4 event on. <br />2. Once again only registered coaches and athletes of individual events will be <br />allowed on the track once the meet begins. Coaches will be given passes to <br />enter the oval. Passes must be turned in once the meet is over. <br />Enclosed in one packet are: <br />1. Entry forms for girls and boys for the age group and exponent meets. <br />2. Exponent chart for exponent meet. <br />3. Waiver forms, which can be duplicated, for each participant. <br />4. Reminders. <br />Entry deadline for the Age Group Track Meet is January 24, 2014. <br />Entry deadline for the Exponent Track Meet is February 7, 2014. <br /> <br />All registrations after the deadline dates must register entrants on the day of the <br />track meet.
