Notes from first meeting
August 30, 2012, 5:30 pm
Fern Acres Community Association Meeting Room
Our first job should be to hold an informational meeting for as many members of the
larger Mountain View community as we can reach. Tentatively scheduled for
Thursday, October 18th, 5:30, at the Mountain View School (if possible).
A planning meeting for the event is tentatively scheduled for Thursday,September
13th, 5:30, at the Fern Acres Community Center.
Discussed at last night's meeting:
•The problems of creating a plan that could make it more difficult for small
businesses to open, operate and/or expand in Mountain View.
•Traffic hazards
•Difficulty dealing with County/State/Fed regulations
•Define what area we want to include in "Mountain View Village Center"
•The possibility of creating an "Enterprise Zone"
•Can we make Mountain View a model of what a Village Community can be?
•How do we provide opportunities that will encourage our keiki to stay and work
and live in Mountain View?
Next: Distribute a contact list. Contact info for those who attended the meeting last
night is listed here, also attached in an excel file. If you want to be included in this

Our work for the next two weeks is to talk with Mountain View neighbors about the
Plan and invite them to participate.
