The meeting came to order at 5:35.
In attendance:Terry and Sharon Daun,Peggy Gentle,Susan Langer,Hannah Hedrick,Frank Commendador,
June Van Pelt,Don&Beverly Shiflett,Patti Pinto
Review notes from August 30th Meeting
Reviewed and informally accepted
New Business:
1. Address needs of Senior Center,budget requests,new building,restroom,kitchen
2. Are there disadvantages to being included in the"Village Center'?
3. Are property taxes affected by a property zone change?
Plan agenda for October 18th Community Meeting at Mountain View School
Ideas were suggested for a format:
1. Explain the history and process of PCDP
2. Explain the work of the Action Committee
3. Origins of the Village Center Planning concept
4. Invitation to Community to participate the whatever extent possible
5. Without Community there is no plan
6. Still a question: do we start to define the area covered by the plan? Use maps?
7. What do you want to have in your village? Not have?
8. Invite Bobby Jean Leithead-Todd and Larry Brown and Robin Stetson to speak
9. Get contact info from community members.
Brainstorm different ways to spread the word
Every Door Direct Mailing,all customers at Mountain View Post Office
Email announcements to everyone's email contact list
Media: Tribune,Big Island Weekly,Big Island Chronicle,Volcano Newsletter,PunaWeb,Neighborhood Place of
Puna,Subdivision email groups.
Write informational articles for the newspapers.

Mountain View Mini Mart/Gas Station/Vemas
Mountain View Merchants
Participants agreed to communicate to all their resources.
