HomeMy WebLinkAboutMt View Plan Report 11-8-12 (1) MOUNTAIN VIEW VILLAGE PLANNING GROUP MEETING NOVEMBER 8,2012 Fern Acres Community Association Meeting Room, 6:00 pm Present: Blaise Caldeira, Dan Taylor, Susan Langer, Clyde Shiraki, Sarah Shiraki, Zendo Kern, Rebecca Ignacio, Donny Souza, Melissa Mulliken, Peggy Gentle, Frank Commendador, Mark Robertson, Nadine Robertson, Russell Rapoza, Patti Pinto The meeting focused on defining the area we are to consider. 1. Kukui Camp Road to Aketsuka Gardens 2. Kukui Camp Road to Glenwood 3. Issue of Hawaiian Acres being in Kurtistown zipcode, but parts of H.A. have closer access to Mountain View 4. Mountain View Zipcode 5. Mountain View, school and/or Police area 6. Consider including a corridor along the highway before and after Mountain View Village 7. Consider only the Village Center 8. Consider from Kulani to Pszyk Road 9. Consider all the way back to Stainback 10. Consider village center (both sides of highway) as main focus, with radiating circles of service area 11. Important to consider entire service area 12. Important to consider mainly the village center 13. Consider village center and define service areas *numbers do not indicate a priority and this list may not be absolutely complete After some discussion it became apparent that we need to have more information. Discussion about what information we should get and who would be able to work on getting it. Population and Census data for surrounding subdivisions and areas—Patti, Peggy,Nadine Water line service in Mountain View—Donny LUPAG map—Dan, Patti Police Service area—Blaise Flood Zones—Patti Questions about Village Center planning, zone changes, infrastructure were considered. Zendo was VERY helpful. It is essential that we understand that once we define our village center and if we include surrounding areas, and the plan is approved, that becomes the area available for growth. The necessity to consider long range growth, infrastructure (water service, electrical, internet, and especially waste water was discussed. We talked about selecting a chair person and came to no absolute conclusion. Patti agreed to be acting coordinator through December, at which point we need to select a chair. We scheduled our next brainstorming session for THURSDAY,NOVEMBER 29T, 6:00 PM AT THE FERN ACRES COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION MEETING ROOM. People who are collecting information should bring it to the meeting. All who were unable to attend this meeting are welcome and encouraged to join in.
