Aloha,
am a 14-year resident of Fern Acres, a member of the Board of Directors
as well as a team member of the new CERT team for Fern Acres.
This letter is testimony in support for the S. Lauko Road extension for
consideration.
For all of the reasons that have been previouly stated in favor; For
the safety of the Mountain View School students and their families,
reduction of school hour traffic on the highway as well as a great reduction
in potential for serious accidents, an access route for residents to get to the
Village faster and easier, fulfillment of the long-term Village Plan for
Mountain View and perhaps most important,
a paved alternate route in case of emergency, The S. Lauko extension
makes much sense.
Please make this a reality for the residents of the upper Puna residents. It
has a direct impact on the safety of Fern Acres, Hawaiian Acres and Kopua
Farm Lots, especially given the potential for a long term flow from the Pu'u
'O'o vent/Kahauale'a flow path.
