AARP Tax-Aide’s moves with technology first working with paper returns, e-filing and now Tax-Wise
Online Conversions. This year 968 returns were prepared in 20 days with 1,375 volunteer hours. If
that’s not impressive, the East Hawai‘i Tax-aide’s also won the Margaret Drescher Tax-Wise Online
District Award. This award originally recognized sites that converted to e-filing. It now recognizes
districts that convert from desktop to Tax-Wise Online returns. Coordinated Services thanks you for
your hard work, dedication and willingness to provide this valuable service to our community and for
FREE!!! Congratulations for a job well done!!! We will see you next tax season.
Thank you for your donations of refreshments for our counselors. Sushi, manapua, party mixes, sponge
cakes, cookies, candies, donuts, fruits, spam musubi and many more. It was very appreciated by our
counselors during their needed breaks!
Coordinated Services will once again assist AARP volunteers in scheduling appointments at the Aging
and Disability Resource Center starting January 2, 2015. To schedule your appointment please call the
East Hawai‘i CSE office at (808) 961-8777 or contact your nearest district offices to assist you in your
community.

Big Island Senior Stars Talent Show
This year’s Big Island Senior Talent Show was an
overwhelming success. Over 300 seniors attended the
event at the Old Airport Pavilion on April 11 to support
the island wide program. 12 of the 19 senior clubs in
attendance brought their talent to the stage to share
with the audience including first timers to the show,
Nā‘ālehu and Pāhala senior clubs. Each participant had
their chance to shine with a wide variety of talents
showcased including tap dancing, singing, comedic
skits and veil dancing. It never ceases to amaze the
talent that abounds within our senior clubs, we can’t
wait to see what the clubs come up with next year!
