DISCUSSION REGARDING SUBCOMMITTEE MEETINGS WITH VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS AND AGENCIES FOR THE PURPOSE OF GATHERING INFORMATION FOR THE FINAL REPORT The Commission will discuss the subcommittees' progress in meetings with the various departments to investigate and gather information from various departments and agencies of the County of Hawai'i to assist in the preparation of the final report. a. Office of Aging i. Vehicle use policy & procedures ii. Overtime policies & procedures iii. Using IT to improve productivity & service to the public iv. Department re- organization V. Planning for future service demands (S. Maddox and L. Kelly) 1 b. Department of Human Resources i. Vehicle use policy & procedures ii. Overtime policies & procedures iii. Using IT to improve productivity & accuracy iv. Department re- organization (S. Maddox) Hawaii Police Department i. Vehicle use policy & procedures ii. Overtime policies & procedures iii. Using IT to improve productivity & service to the public (S. Maddox and L. Kelly) d. Mass Transit Agency i. Current bus capacity and transportation route as well as departmental resources (including administration ii. Hydrogen bus project iii. Current bus fees and payment system iv. Kierkiewicz) 6. DISCUSSION /ACTION REGARDING FORMAT AND CONTENTS OF FINAL REPORT Includes discussion /action on the methodology, sequence and format of the final report. 7. ANNOUNCEMENTS Notice if hereby given that pursuant to Hawai'i Revised Statutes § 92 -3.5, the Cost of Government Commission will be conducting this meeting via videoconference. If audio stream between Kona and Hilo is lost for more than a short period of time, the meeting will be terminated. A commission member(s) will be present at the following location: • Kona Council Room, Conference Room A, West Hawaii Civic Center, 74 -5044 Ane Keohokalole Highway, Building A, Kailua -Kona, Hawai'i 96740. (Pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes § 92 -7.) Public attendance via videoconference will be available at both the Hilo and Kona locations. The next meeting of the Cost of Government Commission will be held on August 21, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Hawaii County Council Room, 25 Aupuni Street, Hilo, Hawai'i 96720. 10. NOTICE TO LOBBYISTS If you are a lobbyist, you must register with the Hawaii County Clerk within five days of becoming a lobbyist (Article 15, Section 2- 91.3(b), Hawai'i County Code). A lobbyist means "any individual engaged for pay or other consideration who spends more than five hours in any month or $275 in any six -month period for the purpose of attempting to influence legislative or administrative action by communicating or urging others to communicate with public officials."
