Akoakoa Point (Bird Cave) Joe is waiting for a date from Eldridge of Pacific Land Management, for a site visit. Hapu'u – Kapanaia Pacific Plains, LLC had their parcel appraised for $2.9 Million, which is the next step in planning for the public purchase of Kapanaia Bay and A’amakao Gulch. Halelua Rain has shown possible problems with the lateral access crossing the gulch. Water is running and that makes crossing more challenging. Owner has flagged proposed trail th [Post meeting update: planning department has scheduled site visit for July 13] Toni will contact Fred and mark Ohau Heiau We should get this marked soon, as that parcel is listed on the market. Kauhola Lighthouse The landowners mauka of Kauhola (Ulrych) are about to begin grading the legal access for parcels makai of Pratt Road, parallel to the existing road Halaula Mill Road NSTR Ainakea – Makai We should schedule a site visit with the planning department, Ala Kaha Kai, Na Ala Hele, and some community members Pahoa Beach The lot line adjustment has not been recorded. One owner states a portion of the access trail is blocked by a large tree in a berm. The other owner has been clearing what he believes to be the access accepted by the Planning Dept. We should schedule a site visit with the planning department before the lot lines and access trail get recorded. Upolu Airport - East end of the runway NSTR Upolu Airport - Restoration Interpretive signs are being painted by the art classes at Kohala Middle School. The group is planning another planting day. Kaiholena Lot F The parcel is in escrow. The purchaser has 120 days from the date of signing to come up with the monies. Ala Kaha Kai Trail Association is still seeking the remaining funding . Kohala Kai We need an update from the planning department if the GOE has been signed by the planning director. Access Group Interfacing with the Action Committee and the County The document has been approved by the action committee and the cover letter is on the agenda for next week. Note: it was approved by the AC on May 12. The action committee will send it to the planning department. Grand to Grand Ultra The public response to their presentation was not exciting. New Items The Na Ala Hele advisory council is looking for new members. They give recommendations to the State of Hawaii Na Ala Hele trail systems. o Next meeting June 4, 2014; 4:30pm at Old Courthouse
