STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC REGARDING ITEMS ON AGENDA

Peter Hackstedde – Updated the committee on a water survey that will be conducted by the University
18
at Puako, which will create a baseline data for water health in the Puako area.
19
Sierra Tobiason – reported that the Department of Health has released a Request for Proposals to
20
implement two watershed plans. Further information is available and Sierra can be contacted for details.

ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS

Minutes of the Meeting of November 25, 2013 were not available.

Elections :

Jojo Tanimoto was nominated by Kit Roehrig and seconded by John Mueller. John Mueller was
25
nominated but did not accept. With no opposition Jojo was unanimously accepted as Chair.

Joel Cohen was nominated by John Hoover and seconded by Kit Roehrig. John Mueller was nominated
27
by Joel Cohen and seconded by Fran Tabor. Joel Cohen was voted as Vice-Chair by Kit Roehrig, John
28
Hoover and Joel Cohen. *Because of question of voting count raised at the 1/27/14 meeting – the
29
Election of the Vice Chair was re-done during that meeting for record.*

Action Committee will continue ongoing review of SKCDP Goals,

Policies and Actions & discuss roles & responsibilities.

Dave Hirt relayed the following:

Kohala Kai Easement hearing has been scheduled for 12/17/13 (postponed from earlier in

the Month)

Amendment to the Bond for monies for the Waimea transit hub, Kawaihae Community

Center and the Puako Sewer Study

Discussion of Procedural Protocols for the Action Committee

Fran Tabor and Kit Roehrig updated the committee on the status of setting up a g-mail account

for the committee and drafting the procedures for accessing and utilizing the account by the
45
Action Committee. The name of the gmail account was approved by the committee to be
46
southkohalacommunitydevelopmentplanactioncommittee@gmail.com. The proposed
47
procedures were asked to be put in writing and sent to the committee members to review,
48
further discussion of the account was postponed for the next meeting.

Staff provided the committee with a status of the recorder position. The County is in the

process of contracting for a recorder position which will assist the West Hawai‘i Project

Managers for South Kohala, North Kohala and Kona CDP Action Committees.
