Dear David and Uschi Snover, Our Puna Community Development Plan Subcommittee on Connectivity and Emergency Response met Tuesday, November 25, 2014 to discuss your response to our letter dated September 9, 2014 sent to you regarding your email sent to us on August 7, 2014, which included petitions from your community opposing CL#31, connecting Kamoamoa to One Ele. The following procedure listed below is written to address your request to have this suggestion (as well as any other suggestion) removed from the lists. 1.As for any suggestion made through public input, we cannot remove it. 2.However, because of the strong community opposition, which is in direct line with one of the County of Hawaii’s Criteria for Implementing Points of Connectivity (#4 Prefer to do a project where there is no public opposition), it will not likely be implemented. 3.We have put forth your points of concern at the Puna Regional Emergency Preparedness (PREP) Fair. 4.We will continue to put forth all comments regarding suggestions for Connectivity Locations to the County of Hawaii as an on-going process. Hawai‘i County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer David and Uschi Snover December 9, 2014 Page 2 5.Priorities will be changed in the next report taking into account all input received since May 13, 2014 and be presented to the PCDP Action Committee in May 2015. 6.Please provide alternate suggestions for Connectivity Locations from your subdivision should you have any, to ensure alternate evacuation routes are available should the need occur. Your concerns are being heard and will be included in our next report. Once again, thank you for your valuable input into this important community-driven process.
