We would like to offer the following comments on the requests: Although the proposed commercial development is within the Orchidland Neighborhood Village Center boundaries as defined in the Puna CDP (Figure 5-10) the Action Committee does not support the boundary amendment and change of zone request as outlined. We feel that the increased traffic impacts at the intersection of Highway 130 and Orchidland Drive would create traffic conditions inconsistent with the Puna CDP Chapter 4.  Highway intersections with substandard private streets are dangerous due to inadequate lighting or intersection controls, combined with high traffic speed along the highway Thank you for extending the opportunity to comment on this SLU Boundary Amendment and Change of Zone application.
