We would like to offer the following comments on the requests: <br /> <br />Although the proposed commercial development is within the Orchidland Neighborhood Village <br />Center boundaries as defined in the Puna CDP (Figure 5-10) the Action Committee does not support <br />the boundary amendment and change of zone request as outlined. We feel that the increased traffic <br />impacts at the intersection of Highway 130 and Orchidland Drive would create traffic conditions <br />inconsistent with the Puna CDP Chapter 4. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Highway intersections with substandard private streets are dangerous due to inadequate <br />lighting or intersection controls, combined with high traffic speed along the highway <br /> <br />Thank you for extending the opportunity to comment on this SLU Boundary Amendment and Change <br />of Zone application. <br /> <br />Sincerely, <br /> <br />Patti Pinto <br />Chair, PCDP Action Committee <br />Hawai‘i County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer <br />
