Subject: Support for Proposed Island-Wide Action Committee Council
Aloha Director Kanuha,
The Action Committee of the Puna Community Development Plan has read your response to the Chair
of the South Kohala CDP Action Committee (Josephine Tanimoto) dated 12/29/14 concerning the
formation of an Island-wide Action Committee Council. The PCDP Action Committee thanks you for
keeping us informed about the future opportunities to participate with the upcoming General Plan
update and possible participation within an Island-wide Action Committee Council.
We understand that any such council will have to be planned and organized by the Planning
Department and we strongly support any efforts to do so. We believe that the Action Committee can
only benefit from a forum where we can share our experience, learn of projects in other areas, discuss
collaborative opportunities and network with other Action Committee members. This interchange of
ideas can only strengthen and refine our capacity to implement our various community plans.
