Open House programs in Hilo and Kona continue to be well attended
Coordinating staff training on Homeless Issues in Our Parks to include staff from
Recreation, Aquatics, Elderly Activities Division (EAD) and Parks Maintenance
Arranged for a loan of mobi mats to Volcanoes National Park to test them for
access to events on grassy terrain.
I’d like to encourage the Recreation Ad Hoc committee to start up again. I will
assist the group, but it needs to be lead by a committee member.
Per DCAB Report
HB 721 and SB 762 - Relating to Beach Access. This bill requires entities that
manage beaches to provide access for persons with disabilities. DCAB supports
the intent of this bill and offers many comments on the implementation of such a
bill.
This could be an interesting discussion…
