Meeting Notes
December 3, 2014 (Old Courthouse 4:30pm)

Akoakoa Point (Bird Cave)
NSTR – Nothing Significant to Report
Hapu'u – Kapanaia
Pacific Plains, LLC is checking on the status as PONC.
Fred will meet with Kamehameha Schools to see if they are interested in purchasing lots 8 & 9 of Pacific
Plains, LLC.
There are illegal campers on the point.
Halelua
We need to get an update from the planning department on the GOE for the access trail.

We need an update from the planning department on the GOE and a response to our comments made a
few months back.

Upolu Airport - East end of the runway

Upolu Airport - Restoration
A nursery has been started with about 300 plants with 4 varieties of Native Hawaiian plants.
The group is planning to transplant into the ground in mid-January 2015 and place signs.
A grant is paying for the planting and they are looking for a 9” auger to dig the holes.

The purchase is scheduled for closing on December 23.
Kohala Shoreline, LLC
A scheduled walk thru started with a discussion over ownership and the walk was cancelled.
The owner’s representatives will submit the cultural impact statement without public input from people
with cultural interest in this area.
We would like for the owners to meet with people with ties in this area
We will draft a letter to the owner’s representatives Greg & Bob to participate in discussions on

their project.

Access Group Interfacing with the Action Committee and the County
We should invite Council person Margret Willie to the next meeting to discuss steps to get CDP
requested changes.
