NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Water Board of the County of Hawaii will hold public hearings
on the Proposed Water Rates at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at the West Hawaii Civic Center, Building
G, Community Hale, 74-5044 Ane Keohokalole Hwy, Kailua-Kona, and at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 27,
2015, at the Liquor Control Conference Room, Hilo Lagoon, Lobby Level, 101 Aupuni Street, Hilo.
Pursuant to Chapter 54, Part III, Hawaii Revised Statutes, the hearings will be for the purpose of hearing
views and comments of all persons interested in the following proposals for increases in the water rate schedules
to be applied by the Department of Water Supply, County of Hawaii, for all districts.
Not all components of the Department's water rate structure are subject to change at this time. Those
components remaining unchanged include: General Use Block Thresholds, Agricultural Use Block Thresholds,
Power Cost Charges, Service Lateral Installation Charges, Facilities Charges, and Temporary Service on
Hydrant Charges.
PROPOSED GENERAL USE RATES (per 1,000 gallons)
In addition to standby and power cost charges, a consumption charge will be applied to all general use
customers.
PROPOSED AGRICULTURAL USE RATES (per 1,000 gallons)
In addition to standby and power cost charges, a consumption charge will be applied to all agricultural use
customers.

PROPOSED STANDPIPE CHARGES
New customers obtaining water service from Department of Water Supply standpipe facilities shall be charged
an initial payment and on a monthly basis for the proportional cost of the standpipe facility. These charges are
as follows and in addition to general use consumption, standby, and power cost charges:
All those desiring to express their views, arguments, or submit data on the above matter may do so by
submitting statements in writing to the Chairperson of the Water Board of the County on or before the date of
the public hearing; but anyone interested may appear in person to submit their data, views, or arguments orally
before the Water Board at the hearing. Submissions made to the Chairperson prior to the date of the hearing
shall be mailed or delivered to the Chairperson in care of the Department of Water Supply, 345 Kekuana6`a
Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720.
If accommodation or auxiliary aid and/or services (i.e., sign language, interpreter, large print) to
participate in the hearing is required, please call (808) 961-8050.
