New Pavilion to be Built at Hilo's
Onekahakaha Beach Park
The Department of Parks and Recreation is pleased to announce the
upcoming construction of a new beachside pavilion at Hilo's popular
Onekahakaha Beach Park.
Construction of a replacement pavilion #7 is scheduled to start on Monday,
August 3. Project contractor BCP Construction of Hawaii Inc. will cordon
off the Keaukaha end of the park's dirt parking lot, which will remain closed
until the construction project is completed in December.
The adjacent bathrooms, picnic tables and other areas of Onekahakaha
Beach Park will remain open daily.
The Department of Parks and Recreation apologizes for any inconvenience
caused by the construction project and thanks park users for their patience
while the new pavilion is being built.
