Thank you for taking the time to answer these questions.
1. In your experience, how prevalent is the issue of squatting and adverse possession?
Lost value of private property. Theft of 39 K which was recovered. Domestic Violence
and threats on my wife an my life in front of HPD. 60 Police visits without any resolution.
Cars striped oil in soil, and ICE manufacturing. 15 55 gallons bags of trash still on
property. Rats, Red Ants and 7ft grass. Tree crushed in drug house. Now my house is
worthless. Food Stamps and Rx drugs .resold by these miscreants.
2. In what communities and districts do squatting and adverse possession appear most
prominent?
Hwn Bch, Parks and Shores, Nanwale, Leilani every community is affected.
3. When you receive notice or a complaint about these situations, what is your normal
course of action?
I made at least 10 complaints to Planning. Two Health Dept ignored 1 CPS ignored.
Police visits accomplished nothing until Mangus and Ishikawa came to Puna. Police
running through my property to chase the squatters.
4. What kinds of complications have arisen in the past that have prevented a successful
resolution of the situation?
Women left beaten and bleeding in the front yard. Girl left naked an High on Ono St..
Drugs still sold on the end of Ono Street after I left.
5. For those situations that have been successfully resolved, please describe what happened.
NO successful resolution. I am losing my home I was to retire in and lose over half the
equity. Hawaii has had a reserve P{lice program that has never hired a civilian I know
of. Perhaps it controls retired Police getting Hwy work. In san Diego it doubled
theamount of Officers available
6. What happens when you contact or try to contact the owner of record?
I had to pay Ted Hong to threaten suit on OCWEN. This got the property cleaned up
once.
7. What solutions would you recommend?
Have the County sue the Banks. If fhey don't clean them up the have the County declare
Eminent Domain on account of Health and Crime .
Of course banks have lobbyist and lawyers that will slow you down.
8. Are there any other comments you would like to make?
For twenty Years the State and County said Kaimu would have affordable houses
for the displaced from Kalapana. There are a few Expensive homes and very well
paved and repaved streets. You have to live County contracts. 888 Million to
rebuild a JC Pennny. 28 Million to re roof the Old County Building and it still
leaks.
The Imiloa Center was built and filled for 26 Million Dollars. With the money we
wasted we could have built plenty of low cost housing..
Drug test before anyone collects a welfare or food stamp supplement. Each test
cost 11 dollars I imagine if one out of twenty popped positive we'd still save
money. Reserve Police and Prisoners to assemble modular housing. Publish how
many time the same contractors have gotten County Contracts. Some one might
think we have a rigged system of who you know :) I was turned down for picking
up trash as unqualified. Hmm funny I handled 30 Million in the Corps . I handle
120 dollar and hour jobs for the Air Force to this day. The County says I am not
qualified to pick up trash. Forget the Civil Defense job that may have been
selected by the Mayor. This was based on remarks made by an HR person at
County. No hard feelings just seems a skill set should be worth more than who
you know. Luckily we had two superb CD Directors so I could not have done any
better
