Thank you for taking the time to answer these questions.
1. In your experience, how prevalent is the issue of squatting and adverse possession?
Left last yr cuz of vog issues with my asma. Method heads moved in and stile everything
u owned including my toilet. Don't like how u guys framed the issue more in bank repos
and business issues. They can afford someone moving in and stealing everything. Us
small home owners can't. You mentioned getting business owners involve but don't see
where a real Public forum is being offered.
2. In what communities and districts do squatting and adverse possession appear most
prominent?
Puna
3. When you receive notice or a complaint about these situations, what is your normal
course of action?
Never received any notice and complaints. Tried to get.police to come out but the way
law.is written they won't come out if I'm not there. Had neighbors calling but they still
won't come. They even stold my car and left.it in middle of road. Police towed it and I
lost it cuz of.towel cost. Then courts fined me by default $400.00 but I NEVER got notice
of court hearing
4. What kinds of complications have arisen in the past that have prevented a successful
resolution of the situation?
Lack of care or authority from police.
5. For those situations that have been successfully resolved, please describe what happened.
Don't know.of a.single.one
6. What happens when you contact or try to contact the owner of record?
I am the owner.
7. What solutions would you recommend?
Get police to act by making a fast track law that police HAVE to act.on
8. Are there any other comments you would like to make?
Involve property owners as equals to banks and businesses
