PARKS,WATER & ROADS SUB-COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES March 25,2015(by

Attendance: John Winter,Toni Withington,Faye Yates, Carter Collins and andi
longpre
PARKS: We held our meeting at Mahukona Park and talked with the Friends of the
Park(s). The Friends informed us of the damage done by the recent storms and
their efforts to clean up the Park. They had numerous recommendations as to how
to improve the Park to be more “user friendly”.
We agreed to contact Jason Armstrong , Public Relations, at Parks and Recreation to
set up a meeting with the Friends to discuss their recommendations . (e.g. some type
of covering on the slippery ladder at the pier to minimize accidents) Andi
contacted Jason re: a meeting in May. (As of this writing Jason has agreed to a
meeting in May and will invite the appropriate person from P&R. We will also have
one or more member of the Friends of the Park(s) from Kapa’a Park in attendance.
PRATT ROAD: We continue to receive responses to our January letter and will
review them at a later date and set up a meeting with landowners.
HISAOKA GYM: The materials have arrived and the repairs are forthcoming.
NEXT MEETING: April 29,5 p.m. at the Senior Ctr.
