SUBJECT: Pāhoa Regional Town Center Plan Subcommittee Meeting Minutes Dated
July 6, 2015; Requesting Information on Next Steps in Process
Aloha Director Kanuha,
We are writing to you on behalf of the Pāhoa Regional Town Center Plan Subcommittee in regards to
the Pāhoa Plan. At the last subcommittee meeting (August 31, 2015) the subject of what we can do to
further the work of the plan was discussed at length.
We recognize that we need to move forward with the possible impacts of the lava as part of our Plan.
In the corrections to the minutes from the meeting with the Mayor you said, “the planning study area
has unquestionably been impacted by lava inundation which makes certain circulation alternatives
unfeasible so a re-assessment of the study area and objectives is necessary”. What are the next steps
in getting a re-assessment of the study area, and can we be of assistance in any of this work?
