Communication No. 2016 -6 <br />PAHOA REGIONALTOWN CENTER PLAN STEERING COMMITTEE <br />February 1, 2016, 8:00 am <br />Luquin's Restaurant <br />MEETING NOTES <br />Present: Mark Hinshaw. Madie Greene, Patti Pinto, Jon Olson, Larry Brown, Elmer Solis <br />Luquin's Parking Lot: <br />A new County appraisal of the lot has been completed and submitted to Sal. The County will give him a <br />couple of weeks to consider the appraisal. It is reported that the appraisal is very close to Sal's previous <br />estimate. <br />Post Office Road Dedication: <br />The County already acknowledges ownership of the road. Elmer will address improvements /widening <br />with Trevor Jackson. Mark reports that in a conversation with Valerie Poindexter he was told that the <br />County has a fund for roads in limbo /paper roads to assist with bringing them up to County standards <br />for dedication. <br />Design Review Committee: <br />Jon McElveney will recuse himself from any deliberations of the Bryson project but agrees to assist with <br />reviews of other projects that may come up. <br />Draft policies and guidelines still being reviewed by PD. <br />Set backs on commercial properties in the Design District are either on the front or the back of the <br />property. Owner will determine which option will be used. <br />Lava Viewing Center: <br />Apa'a /Cemetary Road is being used by a lot of people. Jon Olson says that he will call regarding new <br />signage to help direct visitors to the area (Ron Thiele). <br />
