7 Call to order: 5:05 pm
8 Place: Waimea – Lilly Yoshimatsu Senior Center

17 PRESENTATION
18 Tiffany Kai, Mass Transit Administrator, gave a short update on projects in the South
19 Kohala District, and finding a parcel for the Waimea Transit Hub. She also brought
20 up that they are working on a master plan for the County’s Transportation System
21 and are in the process of developing a Request for Proposals to hire a consultant for
22 the project. The intent is to have the master plan incorporated into the General Plan
23 revision when it is complete. The Master Plan will identify gaps, routes, schedules,
24 equipment, infrastructure, facilities, bus stops and bus shelters, structure, funding,
25 and other transit related items. She explained that they plan to have a lot of
26 community input as well as working with council members, and possibly creating an
27 island wide task force including one person from each CDP to work with the
28 consultant on this plan. She stressed the importance for the residents to participate
29 and to give feedback.
30 Discussion continued amongst Tiffany and the Action Committee.
31 ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS

33 Joel Cohen made a motion to approve the minutes and George Robertson
34 seconded that motion. All in favor and the motion was carried unanimously.
35 BUSINESS OF COMMITTEE
36 1.Subcommittee Reports – Action Committee will review submitted reports
37 and recommended motions and discussion items to place on the next
38 meeting agenda for action.

40 1.Waikoloa – John Mueller submitted report – no questions
41 2.Puako – Robbie Robertson submitted report – no questions
42 3.Kawaihae / Homestead Community Associations – Jojo Tanimoto

44 There was some discussion about water quality and circulation.
45 4.Traffic Safety Committee – Jojo Tanimoto discussed the Kawaihae
46 bypass.
47 2.Update/ Discussion of Agenda Items by Council Members: District 1 –
48 Valerie Poindexter and District 9 – Margaret Wille
49 Margaret Wille spoke to the Action Committee about mass transit and the
50 General Plan revision.
51 STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC REGARDING ITEMS ON AGENDA
52 Lani Eugenio spoke to the Action Committee about the North Kohala CDP Action
53 Committee meetings and the topic of medical marijuana in the community.

57 Diane made a motion to adjourn, and Joel seconded that motion. The motion was
58 carried unanimously and adjourned.
