Presents Easter at the Plaza March 25 in Hilo
The Hawaii County Department of Parks and Recreation, in partnership
with several groups and businesses, invites keiki age 17 and younger to its
free Easter at the Plaza holiday event Friday, March 25, at Hilo's Prince
Kuhio Plaza.
Registration opens at 9:30 a.m. at the plaza's center court. Keiki activities,
including Easter crafts, coloring station, carnival games, tattoos, face
painting, and balloon sculpting, will be offered from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Prize giveaways will occur every half-hour.
A special milk drinking contest, sponsored by the Hilo Jaycees and Kandi's
Drive -Inn, and an ice cream eating contest, sponsored by Dairy
Queen/Orange Julius, will be held at 12:30 p.m. Contests open to keiki age
12 and younger.
Easter at the Plaza is a drug-, alcohol- and tobacco -free event.
The Department of Parks and Recreation thanks partners Prince Kuhio
Plaza, Hilo High School Key Club and AVID, Waiakea High School Key
Club, Hilo Jaycees, Living Waters Assembly, Circle K at the University of
Hawaii at Hilo, East Hawaii Kiwanis, and Kandi's Drive -Inn for helping
sponsor the Easter at the Plaza event.
