TREES AT KAMEHAMEHA PARK: We discussed how we ought to best communicate with the
Dept. of Parks and Recreation regarding any of their future plans to trim and/or cut trees and other
maintenance issues. We agreed that Andi will write a letter to Mr. Honma requesting that, in the
future, Parks and Recreation consult with the community before it takes similar actions.
PRATT ROAD: John provided us with copies of an agreement between the County and Bishop
Estates/Kamehameha Schools regarding use and maintenance of an alternate route should the
main road in Pahoa be compromised. We discussed how we could best modify such an
agreement if Pratt Road were to be used as an emergency by-pass. John provided us with a list of
issues, particular to Pratt Road, that will have to be addressed in such an agreement. Andi will
write to Mr. Warren Lee (Public Works) to ascertain how to best proceed with the Corporation
Council in pursuing such an agreement.
BRIDGES: Sara pointed out there is a need for reflectors on the road to Pololu .Andi will contact
Mr. Panem's office to inquire about this and to request copies of the bridge evaluation documents.
